MESSENGER

Messenger is an internal communication tool designed to send ad-hoc messages to predefined and dynamically updated distribution groups within the COMET System. For example, dynamic groups are all referees of a certain category, all officials in a competition, all club administrators, etc.

1. MESSAGE TEMPLATES

1.1. Template Names

Message templates save time, help user to stay consistent and reduce the margin for error. The same message can be used time and time again. Template names are defined on the UI.

1.3.Personalization

If tags for personalization are used, each user receives personalized messages (e.g. Dear Peter, Dear Julia…)

1.4. Rich Text Format

The Rich Text Format is the standard file format for text-based documents. RTF is readable across many programs and platforms. Text can be styled as bold, italic or underline, image can be imported, etc.

2. DISTRIBUTON GROUPS

2.1. Group Names

Group Names are defined on the UI.

2.2. COMET users

Dynamic feeds captures recipients/users from the COMET system.

3. DYNAMIC CONTENT

3.1. Messages History Tracking

Messages are stored in user’s inbox and outbox with date and time stamp.

3.2. Recipients/Senders

Recipients and senders are COMET users i.e. they must have COMET account.

3.3. Read/Unread Option

Recipient can mark message as read to inform the sender that the message has been read.

4. COMPOSE MESSAGE

4.1. SOLR index-recipients

Recipients are fetched from COMET by using SOLR indexing.

4.2. Message Templates

4.3. Message Attachments

Sender can attach pdf, jpg, png, or any other file to the message.

4.4. Delivery Options

Message can be delivered to user’s e-mail address, i.e. user doesn’t have to access the system to read the message.
